WAVE FOUR - EXERCISE YOUR MIND
If you want to enter the wave state you need to learn how to quiet your mind. Exercising the body usually requires you to USE your body, however, exercise for the mind is a bit different. Often times people talk about exercising the mind and they think you need to USE your mind, as in you need to be able to learn more, think faster, solve problems quicker, etc. I guess this is one form of exercise, but the most powerful form of exercise for the mind might be learning how to NOT USE your mind, to let it rest. This is quite a challenge for most people as we are constantly using our minds - from an early age we are trained to use our minds for every decision we make and every decision we don't make. We are trained to always be thinking, to always be analyzing. You may note that the exhaustion you feel after a long day in the office is often worse than from a long day of doing labor intensive work. It is interesting, when you learn to relax your mind you will notice that you get better at making decisions and you often get some amazing ideas. Many great inventors when asked how they came up with their great “invention” don’t really know. It just came to them when they stopped trying. Makes you wonder if there is some universal information bank out there that is available for us….More on that another time. In summary, give your mind a break, it is working way too hard. Hint - The harder it is for you to rest your mind, the more you need to work at it. The effects are cumulative, so spend some time each day working at it.
